Families

Families are funny things in that no-one chooses their family. Wikipedia states that a family is, within the human context, a group of people affiliated by consanguinity, affinity, or co-residence.

While the team at Craggy Range are not generally related by blood (although some are) or live together (as far as we know) there is a common bond that links us that gives us a sense that we are part of a family. The owners of Craggy Range are of course a very close knit family who believe that what they are doing will be passed down through to their generations, however the greater Craggy Range family is a little different. We are made up of different colours, upbringings, education, political views – the list goes on. But what we all have in common and what makes us a family is that we have a belief in our workmates and we all believe that we can make a difference to achieving the goals of the company and make it into something we are proud of. Getting together for any family occasion often leads to fun occasions and here at Craggy we are no different.

Last weekend’s annual inter departmental 6 –a- side cricket tournament (won by the team from Terroir on the last ball) was a truly family affair with the next generation, loaded with sugar, running the show (see photo). Like any workplace Craggy asks for much from their staff and the hours allocated to home time are very precious so it was fantastic to see partners and children enjoying themselves. Great families work hard, look after one another, have fun and always have time for other family members. At this difficult time in NZ it is worth remembering how lucky we are to have a good family.
