Per Se, New York

Per Se Restaurant, New YorkCraggy Range has recently been listed on the esteemed wine list of Thomas Keller’s prestigious New York restaurant ‘Per Se’.

The 2008 Craggy Range Kidnappers Vineyard Chardonnay is the only New Zealand wine featuring on the extensive 64-page wine list which includes wines from all over the world such as Chateau Mouton-Rothschild, Bollinger and Moët et Chandon, "Dom Pérignon-Oenothèque".

Per Se is Thomas Keller’s urban interpretation of his Napa Valley French Laundry restaurant and is one of only six restaurants in the United States to be awarded three stars in the Michelin Guide. It currently has four stars, the highest rating from the New York Times and was named the 9th best restaurant in the world by Restaurant Magazine.

Designed by Adam Tihany, Per Se opened in the Spring of 2004 with capacity for just 15 tables overlooking Central Park. There’s also a salon, bar, wine cellar, a private room for 10 and another that accommodates up to 60 guests.

Per Se’s wine philosophy is to “present wines from the world’s major viticultural regions, highlighting a collection of older wines as well as wines from small producers that are released in limited quantities." Because the menu changes daily, the sommeliers have the opportunity to explore the full range of the list, choosing wines that are uniquely suited to the myriad flavours of the tasting menu.

Recently featured as a Wine Spectator ‘Smart Buy’, the Craggy Range Kidnappers Chardonnay is going from strength to strength in the United States. Described by Harvey Steiman as “an elegant style, deftly balanced, with refined pear and lime on a satiny frame. Lingers effortlessly.” We are sure to see this wine again in our Feature Restaurant section in no time.
